Quilcene Project

For one of my Herrera projects I designed and oversaw installation of an engineered log jam along the Big Quilcene River on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. The purpose of the log jam was to help restore salmon habitat by re-establishing pools and associated cover near the jam, and by diverting some flow from the river to re-engage an abandoned side channel.
